Christopher Madden and Ellen Diver of WIMPS, with the Commissioner for Children and Young People, Patricia Lewsley, and Ministers Ian Paisley Junior and Gerry Kelly. Behind them, 108 young people voting 'YES' to the creation of a Youth Assembly.

The launch of the 108 campaign was a tremendous success - with a wide range of MLAs and three Ministers coming out to meet the young people from all over Northern Ireland who came to the event. We are very grateful to all of them for turning out and getting involved on such a cold autumn day. The atmosphere was fantastic.

We are also grateful to the office of the Children's Commissioner (NICCY) for all their support with the event. The Big Deal Lottery programme provided funding that supported the provision of t-shirts, and the use of a mobile messaging system called 'Swarmteams', which we were able to use to gather the views of young people on a wide range of issues (report to follow).

The following organisations also provided merchandise for 'goodie-bags' which we distributed to the young people. Biznet, Coca-Cola, the Belfast Institute, NICCY, the Health Promotion Agency, and Domino's Pizza.
