Instant Swarms: add all your contacts
17 Oct 2006

You've told us that sometimes you want to create a new swarm from your existing community – for example, when you want to celebrate with an extended group of family and friends.group_invites.jpg

Our new Instant Swarm feature allows you to do just that. Find it on the Invite Member screen – click the ‘select members from your existing swarms’ link.

Tick the members you want to copy to this swarm. As these members have already agreed to be part of your Swarmteams community, we don’t need to send them another invitation. So once you’ve copied the members across you can start communicating with them right away.

We allow you to inform your contacts that they have been added to a new swarm by sending them a ‘confirmation’ message.

I’m creating my first swarm but I’m already a member of another swarm – the list is empty – why?

The system will only list members from the swarms that you own. So first time around you must invite members to join your swarm (and they must accept your invitation) then after that you can add them to as many swarms as you want.

If I choose to send a confirmation, will it be sent via email or sms and what will it say?

The message will be sent via email where available – if email is not enabled then it will be sent via SMS. The message will state “YourUserName has added you to SWARMNAME. Login to find out more about the swarm” – eg Joe Bloggs has added you to JoesPals.

I’ve already sent an invitation to one of my existing contacts but they haven’t replied yet – can I still add them using this feature?

Yes you can – but first you must Cancel the Pending Invitation.
