Smart Messaging now available
09 Oct 2006

Smart Messaging is now available to all Swarm-it! and Swarm-pro! users

Smart Messaging brings true intelligence to the Swarmteams message delivery and distribution approach.  It means that when you are online, you receive instant messages and when you are offline, you receive text messages to your mobile phone.

It’s simple to use – all you need to do is configure your account preferences and then the system does the rest.

How to configure your account?

Smart messaging is set at an account level – login and click ‘My Account' link on the left-hand side menu.

Ensure that you have ticked the mobile and IM channels and that you have entered a valid phone number and an instant message id.  Check that they are correct by sending a test message.

Then answer Yes to this question: Do you want to use Smart Messaging?

Remember to save your settings.

What happens next?

If you are at your computer and you are logged into MSN or ICQ, any message you receive will ping your instant messenger.

If you’re not at your computer or just not logged into MSN or ICQ then the message will be sent to your mobile phone.

Other FAQs?

What if my IM status is Away or Busy?
The message will still go to your IM account.  If you want messages to go to your mobile then change your IM status to offline or disconnected.

Can I use Skype?
No – sorry but we are still having technical problems with the service we use to connect to Skype.

Can I use other IM applications?

Currently we support MSN and ICQ but our team is working on Google and Yahoo.  They will be available soon - so watch this space.

Will I still get my messages via email?
If you have ticked your email channel and entered an email address then you will always get an email (regardless of whether you are online of offline).
