Introducing The General
Hi - I’m Mirko Trasciatti and I am 27 years old and I live in Milan, Italy.
For the last two years I have been working with Bugiorno S.p.A., a company leader for value-added mobile services in Europe and a relevant player in the United States and Latin America.
I’m what you might call a ‘technology enthusiast’ - but I only spend time with technology if it saves me time.
My friends calls me “The General” because I’m always the one who proposes, organizes, decides and gives life to events whether its holidays, nights, or soccer matches.
I’m the one who usually starts the swarm moving.
We swarm around soccer
I have a swarm of soccer friends all around Milan – there are about 30 of us between 25 and 30 years old. Most of us work for telcos, high tech companies, or consulting companies.
We play what we call in Italy ‘Calcetto’ – you might call it 5-a-side soccer. We keep track of the results of all our matches with a ranking system we have developed ourselves. We don’t just score the matches but we also rank each player too – we are a pretty competitive bunch!
From my experience as a tournament organiser and match referee I can confidently say that planning a soccer match is one of the most difficult social events to organise.
Swarmteams has become an essential tool to enable us to reach each other in real time to get information about:
- Player availability
- Pitch availability
- Team selection and notification
- Discussing the result and allocating player scores (and blame) afterwards

The thing I like most about Swarmteams is that you can always reach your team members without having to worry about which channel they are on - they decide which channel suits them best!
Now I don’t have to worry about team logistics I have much more time to think about team selection and tactics and scoring more goals.
